Permutations and Combinations

Definition of permutation and combination:Arrangement of things is called permutation. In the arrangement, the order is considered.Whereas, combination means selection of things in which order is not important.

Example of permutation and combination:

For example, we have to arrange a number that consists of three digits by using the given digits 1, 2, 3, 4.We will get different numbers according to the order of arrangement of the digits. This is an example of permutation.

If we have to form a team of 11 players out of 20 players, the order of players is not needed because order will not result in the change of the team. This is an example of combination. At least one player will have to be changed in order to form a different team.

Next time will learn about what is probability.
