Finding percentages

In mathematics, a percentage expresses a number as a fraction of 100.

How to calculate percentages?

To find the percentage that a single unit represents out of a whole of N units, divide 100% by N.In finding the percentage of a percentage, convert both percentages to fractions of 100, or to decimals, and multiply them. 

we have three important terms to define while finding  percentages:

Rate: The rate is the percent

Percentage: The result obtained when a number is multiplied by a percent

Base: The base is the total amount.
